Well, as we suspected, Mr. Bennett needs tubes in his ears. The doctor confirmed a mild hearing loss due to the recurrent ear infections and fluid in his ears. He said the tubes will help this though! So we're scheduled for April 3rd (if my work schedule cooperates) and hopefully he said we'd see an improvement in his speech delay very quickly. That would be remarkable! Although, I must say, his speech isn't delayed enough to stop him from saying, "OH NO! Mommy broke car. Papa (Grandpa P) fix," when I ripped the front bumper off our van backing out of the garage last week on the way to take Xavier to school. I know, I KNOW, it sounds like I'm an idiot driver, but give me a break...that was the morning I almost had to take Benny to the ER to get the 2 Cheerios out of his nose that he had stuffed up there during breakfast. Luckily, he cooperated enough to blow them down a little so I could grab them with tweezers. So I was a little stressed that morning.
We're still suffering through some miserable weather here. Today the rain/sleet combo combined with the wind made for an interesting venture into and out of Xavier's school. Never seen a stroller move about 50 ft by itself before! (Xavier wasn't in it luckily, I was getting him out of the car when it happened.)
Xavier is quite the ham lately. He's learning a lot in school and his OT tells me he recognizes his name 100% of the time now. With animals, shapes and colors, he's about 8 out of 10 most of the time. Good job Xavier, we're proud of our determined little boy! And we just got word from our insurance company that his gait trainer, which will help him stand and walk, has been approved. Xavier chose "electric lime" for the color - obviously he has great fashion sense and knows that spring and summer are coming, so a bright color was in order!

Wow, I'm so proud of Xavier...way to go! I'm sorry to hear that Ben is having so many problems with his ears, hopefully the tubes will help out and make him feel better too.
Take care!
P.S. I love the pictures!
Sorry to hear about the tubes. Keep hamming it up Xavier!
