Short season??

Hmmm, I don't know about that, it was only 60 today...but Xavier seems to think that its time to wear shorts. This is what he was doing with his pants as we were driving home from his horseback riding today - must have been too hot after all the activity!

Xavier and his equestrian activites :)

Here are some photos from today's hippotherapy session. CJ the horse and Xavier really like each other. In fact today, when CJ heard Xavier and I walk into the barn, he immediately stuck his head out of his stall and let out a big sigh that sounded very happy (to me anyway). We went over to say hi and Xavier talked to him for a little bit before he started riding. His wonderful PT Heather works with him on trunk control and head control. We have noticed a huge improvement in his tone and strength, in fact tonight he was sitting without supporting himself with his hands for a few seconds at a time. Amazing! Thank you CJ and Heather!

The brothers relaxing

They sat like this for awhile and watched tv! Too funny!

My big preschool boy...

Xavier had a birthday celebration with all his friends at school today! He'll be 4 on Monday! Here's a picture of Xavier after enjoying the cupcakes we brought in for everyone.

Benny's visit to the ENT and Xavier's a smart cookie!

Well, as we suspected, Mr. Bennett needs tubes in his ears. The doctor confirmed a mild hearing loss due to the recurrent ear infections and fluid in his ears. He said the tubes will help this though! So we're scheduled for April 3rd (if my work schedule cooperates) and hopefully he said we'd see an improvement in his speech delay very quickly. That would be remarkable! Although, I must say, his speech isn't delayed enough to stop him from saying, "OH NO! Mommy broke car. Papa (Grandpa P) fix," when I ripped the front bumper off our van backing out of the garage last week on the way to take Xavier to school. I know, I KNOW, it sounds like I'm an idiot driver, but give me a break...that was the morning I almost had to take Benny to the ER to get the 2 Cheerios out of his nose that he had stuffed up there during breakfast. Luckily, he cooperated enough to blow them down a little so I could grab them with tweezers. So I was a little stressed that morning.
We're still suffering through some miserable weather here. Today the rain/sleet combo combined with the wind made for an interesting venture into and out of Xavier's school. Never seen a stroller move about 50 ft by itself before! (Xavier wasn't in it luckily, I was getting him out of the car when it happened.)
Xavier is quite the ham lately. He's learning a lot in school and his OT tells me he recognizes his name 100% of the time now. With animals, shapes and colors, he's about 8 out of 10 most of the time. Good job Xavier, we're proud of our determined little boy! And we just got word from our insurance company that his gait trainer, which will help him stand and walk, has been approved. Xavier chose "electric lime" for the color - obviously he has great fashion sense and knows that spring and summer are coming, so a bright color was in order!

An introduction!

Hi everyone! We've decided to make a website for our boys to keep all of our family and friends up to date. So check in often to see new pictures, video clips (if I can figure it out - ha!) and a little journal about what's going on in our household! The first picture shows the boys all bundled up before headed out into the cold Ohio winter last month. The boys (and Nick and I) are very much looking forward to springtime, warm weather, playing outside, and all the fun that this time of year brings (or should if the weather cooperates)!
